Montique → Slot-together shelving

Made in Germany — Batch 01 from winter 2026

Slot-together shelving in aluminium.

Slotted together by hand, fixed in one movement: at Montique the profiles slide into a joint that lies in the material itself — form-fitting, without play and with no visible screws. Developed and made in Germany.

Precision slotting instead of clamp connectors

Most slot-together shelving works with plastic clips or wire grids: quickly built, but wobbly — and worn out after the second move. Montique slots together differently. Every profile of extruded aluminium carries its connecting geometry within itself: side panel and shelf slide into one another until the joint grips. Nothing is screwed on, nothing glued in, no fitting sits on the surface.

The last step is taken by an expansion dowel inside the joint: one movement with a single tool tensions the connection — form-fitting, without play and invisible. That keeps the shelving as precise as on day one, however often it is taken apart and set up again.

Slotted together — and then fixed form-fittingly.

Slotting alone does not make a good shelf. What matters is what comes next: the expansion dowel tensions each connection from the inside instead of merely clamping it. How the joint works in detail is shown by the 3D view on the home page.

The joint lies in the profile — not in a fitting

Where other systems mount connectors on top, at Montique the interlock is part of the profile geometry: it is formed during extrusion and becomes visible when the parts are slotted together. We do not hide the connection — it is the design feature.

And because the joint is made to be undone, the shelf simply moves house with you: take it apart, stack it, slot it together again. What grows with you does not need replacing.

From a single cube to a shelf wall

Every configuration comes from the same basic element on the 360 mm grid — as a side table, a sideboard, a cube shelf or a whole shelf wall. One profile costs 139 €; the system price follows transparently from the parts, with no package mark-ups. The four starting points (Duo, Tower, Carré, Magnum) begin at 1,383 € — or plan freely in the configurator.

Common questions about slot-together shelving

What is slot-together shelving?

Slot-together shelving is assembled without conventional screwing: the parts are slotted into one another. At Montique the aluminium profiles slide by hand into a joint that is part of the profile itself — an expansion dowel then fixes each connection, form-fitting and without play.

How stable is a slotted-together shelf — doesn’t it wobble?

The usual plastic slot and clamp connections work loose over time. At Montique the connecting geometry is integrated into the aluminium profile and tensioned by an expansion dowel — form-fitting and without play. The connection stays precise even after many assemblies and disassemblies.

Can the shelving be assembled without tools?

The slotting together itself is done by hand: the profiles slide into the integrated joint. Each connection is fixed with a single tool in one movement — no visible screws and no surface-mounted fittings.

Can I take the shelving apart again?

Yes — the joint is made to be undone: without damage and as often as you like. Take it apart, move house, rebuild or extend it; the profiles stay compatible across all production batches.

What sets Montique apart from ordinary slot-together shelving?

Ordinary slot-together shelving is usually made of plastic cubes or wire grids with clamp connectors. Montique is extruded, anodised aluminium on a 360 mm grid: a single basic element whose joint lies in the profile itself — precisely made in Germany and built for decades.

What does Montique slot-together shelving cost and when is it available?

The price follows from the parts of your configuration — with no package mark-ups. One profile costs 139 €, the four starting points begin at 1,383 €. All prices incl. VAT. Free shipping within Germany on orders over €250. Other countries on request. Batch 01 arrives from winter 2026; join the Owners list and you’ll hear the launch date first.
